The Aquila Legis Fraternity will celebrate its 75th Anniversary this June 2024 and will also formally release two special editions of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Aquila Legis Fraternity 75th Anniversary Limited Edition and Praeses Edition became available this June 2024. The Limited Edition is a four-bottle set which has a special design that highlights the success and resilience of the fraternity while the Praeses Edition pays tribute to the current and past leaders of the fraternity.

Established in 1949 at the Ateneo De Manila University – School of Law, the Aquila Legis Fraternity has produced well-known public servants, lawyers, and businessmen. Prominent Aquilans include Former Vice-President Teofisto Guingona, former Senate President Ernesto Maceda, former House Speaker Prospero Nograles, former Supreme Court Justice Mariano Del Castillo, former Solicitor General Jose Calida, former Congressman and Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya, former Presidential Spokesperson Ignacio Bunye, former Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello, former Press Secretary Ricardo Puno, former Transportation Secretary Jun Abaya, former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Sergio Apostol and former LTO Chief Roberto Cabrera.

Aquilans George “Jet” Hofer, Homer Arellano, Luis Dela Paz, Hywel Vergara, and Miguel Ludovice spearheaded the release of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label special editions for the 75th Anniversary of the fraternity. “It is very fitting that the Aquila Legis Fraternity will celebrate its diamond anniversary with the release of the Limited and Praeses Editions of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label. We are very honored to have partnered with Johnnie Walker Blue Label, which is at the forefront of luxury whiskies in the world,” remarked Aquilan and Zamboanga Sibugay businessman Jet Hofer.

The Johnnie Walker Blue Label is distilled, bottled, and distributed by Diageo. Diageo is a world leader in the distribution of quality spirits and liquors. It maintains repositories of its most rare and expensive bottles in strategic locations all over the world and calls it Diageo Vaults. In the Southeast Asia region, there are only two Diageo Vaults, one in Singapore and another one here in the Philippines. Several limited and special editions of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label can be found in the Diageo Vault in Bonifacio Global City.

The Aquila Legis Fraternity 75th Anniversary Convention will be held in Okada Manila on June 29, 2024. Several big names in the legal community and known Aquilans are expected to attend the event, including Senator Francis Tolentino, Supreme Court Justice Ricardo Rosario, Congressman Boyet Gonzales, Congressman Loreto Acharon, Congressman Bem Noel, Congressman Dino Tanjuatco, Congressman PM Vargas, Congressman Fidel Nograles, Congressman Rodge Gutierrez, Sandiganbayan Justice Michael Musngi, Civil Service Commission Chairman Karlo Nograles, BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, IBC 13 President Jose Policarpio, DENR Undersecretary Juan Miguel Cuna, Tagaytay RTC Judge Gian Navarro, and Consul to the USA Francis Maynard Maleon.
