Malaysia has sent back to the Philippines businessman Alan Dennis Sytin who is wanted by local police authorities for allegedly masterminding the murder of his brother, Dominic in 2018.
Sytin was brought to the full custody of the Philippine National Police following his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 11:20 pm on Friday (April 11).
He was deported by the Malaysian government a few weeks after he was apprehended on March 22 by the Special Investigation Branch of the Petaling Jaya District Police at the Cobra Rugby Club in Selangor.
Accused of ordering the killing of his brother, Dominic, the 51-year-old businessman was found to have violated Section 6 (l)© of Malaysia’s Immigration Act for failing to present valid travel documents.
He had also been the target of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) that issued a Red Notice for his arrest on Jan. 24, 2020.
PNP PRO-3 Director P/Brig. Gen. Jean S. Fajardo lauded the close coordination and intelligence sharing conducted with the Malaysian authorities in connection with the search for SyTin.
Syti is facing a murder charge for the slaying of Dominic, president and chief executive officer of United Auctioneers INc., in 2018 at a hotel in Olongapo City, Zambales.
Manila Regional Trial Court Judge Caroline I. Tobias issued a warrant of arrest for Sytin on Sept. 1, 2020 following the failure of the accused to show up in court hearings.
Tobias has decided to deny bail for his temporary liberty.
Malaysian Police Commissioner Datuk Ts. Ahmad Ramdzan bin Daud has been credited in effecting the arrest of Sytin in Malaysia.
