A bogus Facebook account of former president and incumbent Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has been created by suspected scammers.

In a scam alert, Arroyo’s office disclosed that the fraudulent FB account is under the name Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and contains the official profile picture that the former chief executive uses.

The fake account also contains the former president’s bio and cover photo.

“Please be advised that this account is not affiliated with her, and any solicitations or engagements from it should be disregarded,” Arroyo’s office said.

A post in the bogus account showed a conversation where in the scammer asks for the telephone number of a reader who was offered a “free load TNT, globe, smart, TN 1000 giga”.

Lance Chua, a staff of the former president, said that Arroyo uses the following verified accounts: Facebook Fan Page: Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo; TikTok ACcount: @gloriamacapagal arroyo; and YouTube Account: Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (Library).

“If you encounter any suspicious account or receive unexpected messages claiming to be from former President Arroyo, pelase report them to the respective platform immediately. Your vigilance helps maintain a safe online community,” said Suarez.
