ERMITA, Maynila — Nahaharap sa kasong tax evasion ang may-ari ng Ever Bilena Cosmetics na si Dioceldo Sy at ang kanyang tresurerang si Miami Siytaoco makaraang madiskubre ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na gumagamit sila ng binansagang mga 'ghost' receipt sa kanilang mga tax declaration.

Ayon kay BIR commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., sinampahan ng kaso sina Sy at Siytaoco ng Run After Fake Transactions (RAFT) Task Force ng BIR kasama ang Department of Justice (DoJ). Apat na kasong kriminal ang hinain ng DoJ sa regional trial court sa Quezon City, kabilang dito ang tax evasion at failure to supply correct and accurate information ng kanilang income tax return.

“The BIR once again commends the illustrious men and women of the DoJ in ruling in favor of our complaint against Ever Bilena. This shows that even the largest corporations in the Philippines should not use ghost receipt in their tax declarations. Warrants of arrest are expected to be issued against the responsible corporate officers of Ever Bilena,” pinunto Lumagui.

"Even the largest corporations are audited, prosecuted and its responsible officers arrested as long as there is a finding by the RAFT taskforce that the corporation used ghost receipts to illegally lessen their taxes," dagdag nito.

Una rito, sinuportahan ng DoJ ang reklamong sinampa ng BIR laban sa Hilmarc’s Construction Corporation, na isa sa pinakamalaking kontratista ng pamahalaan sa buong bansa.

Sa pagkakahabla sa Ever Bilena, mapapabilang ang kompanya sa listahan ng malalaking negosyo na kinasuhan sa korte dahil sa paggamit ng mga ghost receipts.
