BATASAN HILLS, Quezon City — Under a new cash grant for members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), around 80,000 mothers with newborn children and above will receive beginning next week conditional stipends worth P350 per month.
According to the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD), the First 1,000 Days of Life (F1KD) conditional cash grant under 4Ps aims to help program members who are expecting mothers and those with children aged 1 to 2 years old.
This was announced by 4Ps national program manager Gemma Gabuya who enthused that with the cash grant, children who are studying and healthy will have a better chance to finish their studies so that their families can exit poverty in the long term.
Gabuya explained that the 4Ps F1KD cash grant is an additional financial assistance to cover essential health and nutrition expenses during the critical period of a child’s life through the provision of the P350 monthly health grant for female 4Ps beneficiaries who are pregnant and households that have children from newborn to 2 years old.
However, in order to be eligible to the new grant, female 4Ps members must pass the conditions set by the DSWD which are aligned with the implementation of Republic Act No. 11148 or the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act and existing protocols set by the Department of Health (DoH).
Among the conditions set are accessing pre-natal services at a DoH-accredited health facility, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, child birthing or delivery at a DoH-accredited hospital, attending post-natal visits, participating in counseling sessions and obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations, among others.
Gabuya reminded 4Ps beneficiaries to update their data with the DSWD so they can avail of the F1KD conditional cash grant.
“Itong aming campaign ngayon sa ating mga household beneficiaries, maging masipag sa pag-report at pag-update nila kung sila ay nabuntis at kung sila ay nanganak na para talagang namomonitor natin ang numbers ng beneficiaries,” she announced.
