INTRAMUROS, Manila — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is offering more than 5,000 employment opportunities to workers displaced by the shutdown of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) on the expressed orders of no less than President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. himself.
POGOs were totally banned by the President since last year after complaints of involvement of POGOs in illegal and criminal activities that include kidnapping, human trafficking, cybersex and scamming. This resulted in the displacement of thousands of POGO workers, most if whom were rlforeign national but also including some Filipinos.

“This time, it will be high-end jobs. Most of the employees of IGL (internet gaming licensees) have background on information technology,” Laguesma pointed out.
In support, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) also announced vacancies for 30 client support specialists, who on acceptance will take charge of the agency’s contact center in Makati City.
