The Parañaque city government honored two centenarians and their respective families in simple ceremonies that coincided with the flag raising ceremony on Monday (March 11).
Both resident of Barangay San Martin de Porres, centenarians Rogelio Libijo and Conchita Reyes were warmly applauded by city employees and officials headed by Mayor Eric Olivarez.
Olivarez said the two centenarians each received a P100,000 cash gift for reaching the age of 100 years.
They are also expected to receive an additional P100,000 each and letters of commendation for reaching a milestone in their lives.
Olivarez also commended relatives of the two elderly Filipinos for taking good care of the two centenarians.
