VP Sara draws more criticisms over press con outburst

10/21/24, 11:34 AM

Vice President Sara Duterte’s two-hour outburst last week continued to earn her criticisms from various political fronts.

In a press briefing on Monday (October 21), Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel advised the embattled Duterte to seek help about how she felt.

Pimentel told a press conference that he thought the vice president that was shown in a media conference was a mere “artificial intelligence” creation.

“Hindi naman, totoo pala, so it’s really unusual,” he said.

While Malacañang chose to ignore Duterte’s tirade against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla was apparently not taking it sitting down.

He described Duterte’s actions as “unbecoming” coming from the second highest government executive in the land.

Remulla said the DOJ is studying potential legal ramifications of Duterte’s two-hour meltdown.

During the press conference, the vice president chided Marcos as an incompetent president who does not know how to become one.

However, what took critics and allies by surprise was her threat to exhume the remains of the president’s father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

It was former President Rodrigo Duterte who allowed the elder Marcos’ buried there notwithstanding strong public outcry against it.

The vice president also said that she had once daydreamed of decapitating the incumbent president, clearly indicating her bitter misgivings at supporting his candidacy in 2022.

Antipolo 2nd District Rep. Romeo Acop said the outburst was a galaring demonstration of a flaw in Duterte's character.

“When a person has too much anger in her, her sense of decency is lost, in my opinion,"said Acop.
