Future lawyer wins first Miss Universe title for Denmark

For the first time in Miss Universe history, a Danish beauty was crowned 2024 Miss Universe held in Mexico City.
Victoria Kjaer Theilvig won over 123 contestants in the 73rd edition of the annual beauty pageant that also saw contestants aged above 28 joining the competition.
Only 21 years old, Victorial is a competitive dancer, entrepreneur and is studying law.
Philippines bet Chelsea Manalo was declared Miss Universe Asia 2024, together with three other ladies from their respective continents - Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania; Matilda Wirtavuori of Finland as Miss Europe and Middle East and Tatiana Calmell of Peru as Miss Americas.
Manalo made it to the Top 30 cut, giving her country a two-year straight inclusion to the prettiest among the 124 contestants.
Last year, Miss Philippines Universe Michelle Dee made it to the Top 10.
This year’s program in Mexico was hosted by “Saved by the Bell” star Mario Lopez and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.
The final five answered questions on a range of topics. Thelvig won applause when she answered “I live by each day”, in response to a question on how she would live differently if nobody would judge her.
She later urged viewrs to “keep fighting… no matter where you come from.”
“I stand here today because I want a change. I want to make history, and that’s what I’m doing tonight,”Victoria stressed.
Third runner up Miss Venezuela Ileana Marquez Pedroza made history by becoming the oldest among top 5 winners in the franchise’s seven decades of existence.
For the first time in Miss Universe history, women aged over 28 were permitted to participate.
