Alluding to those ‘relying on (the) old showbiz gimmick to make money’, 'Eat Bulaga' occasional host and senatorial aspirant Vicente 'Tito' Sotto III took a swipe at those involved in recent scams that have victimized some celebrity personalities.
Sotto's comments came 'interestingly' amid the legal battle of his brother Marvic Valentin 'Vic' Sotto with local filmmaker Darryl Yap over a Pepsi Paloma film teaser, which piqued the curiosity of his fans after he made such a statement through his X (formerly Twitter) page last week.
“When you rely on an old showbiz gimmick to make money and got your facts all wrong, you will falter, for sure!” the former Senate president and founder of the iconic musical group VST & Company remarked without elaborating.
On the same day Sotto shared his post, his younger brother filed 19 counts of cyberlibel against Yap before the Muntinlupa Prosecutor’s Office. The complaint stemmed from the mention of Vic's name as one of the alleged rapists of Paloma in the teaser of Yap’s film about the late sexy actress.
Yap, in response, defended his movie teaser and asserted that it is based on "published reports, deleted videos and old newspapers."
